How Little Can We See? is an ongoing series of mixed media print collages that reflect on the notion that we only see through which our perceptions allow us. Until more recent times, our acceptance of basic notions of truth enabled a somewhat clear understanding of our world. However, in our current climate of political and scientific distrust, it brings into question our very notions of what is real and what isn’t. Referencing the practice of montage and early split-screen cinema, this mixed media series shows cropped views of micro and macrocosmic worlds. Highlighting an ambiguous complex existence, each piece allows the viewer to bridge separate “scenes” into a cohesive picture; ultimately building one’s own “true” perceived narrative.
